Geo-Technical Tests
Each project begins by ensuring it has a strong foundation
NEWTEST is an accredited geotechnical engineering laboratory with a full-service soils analysis and materials testing capabilities. We can deliver a wide range of geotechnical project support from routine classifications to complex soil and strength analysis tests to provide a full understanding of each project to improve foundation design, shorten construction time, and lower costs by performing the needed tests:
- Boreholes and Soil sampling will be performed according to relevant specification In field and laboratory to ensure that reliable data are obtained using the equipment designated for sampling.
- The Samples are extracted from the site to be suitable for testing according to the specifications which are cylindrical samples extracted by a tube sampler that is dedicated for this purpose
- Standard Penetration Test (SPT)
Physical and Chemical Properties Determination
A set of Lab geotechnical tests are performed on soil obtained samples in order to determine their physical and chemical properties including:
- Soil classification tests
- Moisture Contents
- Specific Gravity
- Atterberg Limits
Soil Strength Determination
The strength of soil is typically defined as the resistance to shear stress that the soil may sustain without experiencing failure. Shear strength is a critical parameter in geotechnical projects and to determine the deformation and the parameters of soil strength we perform the following:
- Direct shear test
- Consolidation test (one-dimensional consolidation properties)
- Consolidated undrained Triaxial compression test
- Consolidated Drained Triaxial compression test
- Unconfined compression strength
- Chemical Analysis tests for Soil
